On May 11, 2007, the President of El Salvador, Mr. Elías Antonio Saca inaugurated the Consulate General of El Salvador in Washington D.C., to take better care of the Salvadoran Communities that reside in the metropolitan area of Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.

The Delegate of AMISRAEL to El Salvador, Dr. Samuel Escobar, and AGENTS OF PEACE volunteers from the City of Washington and New York were invited by the President to the inauguration of the Salvadoran Consulate.  In this event, diplomatic and religious personalities as well as the media were able to learn about the AGENTS OF PEACE campaign.

The President of El Salvador congratulated AMISRAEL for its initiative and promised to thoroughly study the campaign. He seemed very interested in the campaign, since El Salvador is currently celebrating 15 years of peace after the 1992 accords between the Government of El Salvador and the old guerrilla of the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN).

On the other hand, the General Consul of El Salvador in Washington, Margarita Chávez showed much interest in the campaign and proposed work jointly with AMISRAEL to undertake projects in favor of peace.
