The Executive has worked restlessly strengthening the peace process in the country.
His policy of democratic security has reached the country’s furthest corners giving hope to the zones in conflict which for many years have been abandoned by the country. For this reason the Colombian President found in the campaign one an important tool to complement his work effort.

“I came across with the Agent of Peace booklet. I would like to congratulate the promoters of this humanitarian organization, and tell you honestly that although this country has suffered terrorism for so many years, our government is moving forward in its battle to dismantle terrorism.

You have asked me, would you like to be an Agent of Peace? Yes, I would like to make a contribution, and persevere in the battle to establish security as a contribution towards peace.  Security is a democratic value, security generates peace, security as a democratic value guarantees peace which is a state of consciousness; it guarantees peace which is a state of democratic perdurability,” said the President of Colombia, Alvaro Uribe Velez.

Other high ranking government officials like the Minister of National Defense, Juan Manuel Santos, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fernando Araujo, declared themselves Agents of Peace openly, congratulating AMISRAEL for this outstanding initiative with which they feel completely identified.

“Agents of Peace? Of course, always,” said Minister Juan Manuel Santos in a march for peace in Cartagena, Colombia, on April 13, 2007.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Fernando Araujo was invited to the First International Forum of Agents of Peace, event sponsored by AMISRAEL – The Messenger of Peace in Bogotá, Colombia, on March 10, 2007. In his speech, the Minister Fernando Araujo said: “I am delighted to participate in this forum. For the entire nation peace is the main subject of politics.  All the struggles we have are focused towards the construction of a more fair, equitable and participatory country, with more opportunities for the Colombians. The way to reconciliation is not responding with the Law of Talion: an eye for eye, tooth for tooth. My recognition and advice for all the peace advocates is to continue with your efforts, without ceasing your search for peace which by nature is a social good.”
