September 11 a milestone in global history

September 11 is a date that sets a historic milestone: “before” and “after.”  Not for being the only place in the world to live the tragic experience of terror, or the first place in the world to undergo its consequences, but for paralyzing the world from its daily activities into a deep reflection of the value of life.

This date is very symbolic, it was far more than an attack against the United States, more than an attack against the World Trade Center; it was an attack against the nations of the world.

No where in the planet are we free from its effects. Terrorism does not choose a face, a nationality, profession or age. The bigger the worldwide commotion, the bigger success achieved.

In this globalized and integrated world we cannot say that an existing conflict at the other end of the world does not matter to our country. To effectively say “No” to terrorism the efforts of the international community are required.

May this feeling embrace everyone and surpass borders, ideologies, beliefs and prejudices and, that all the nations, in unison, be heard in an outcry for peace!
