AMISRAEL and the Jewish Community in Nicaragua commemorated "The Shoa"

On January 27, 2008, AMISRAEL - The Messenger of Peace in conjunction with the Jewish Congregation in Nicaragua; remembered the International Day of the Holocaust. Monsignor, Leopoldo Brenes joined to this solemn act of remembrance and led a Mass in memory of the victims and urge those present to keep alive the memory of this tragedy for humanity, with the aim of avoiding a recurrence.

During the event, the Chairman of the Jewish Community in Nicaragua Eduardo Translateur also appealed to transmit for the new generations the tragedy in the Holocaust and to prevent world can see a similar episode again.  He clarifies: "Not all victims were Jews, but all Jews were victims. "

Later in the Crowne Plaza Convention Center, AMISRAEL and the Jewish Community held a special ceremony in the presence of the Russian Ambassador in Nicaragua, the Executive Director of "Home B'nai B'rith" and members of the consular corps.

After having held a minute of silence in memory of the Holocaust victims, hears the appeal of the SHOFAR and proceeded to light six candles representing the six million of Jews killed in the Holocaust.

The "Holocaust Victims" photo exhibition was also inaugurated and a video prepared by AMISRAEL for the commemoration day was projected.
