Environmental conservation agreement

On May 13, 2008 AMISRAEL and APREFLOFAS (Association for the Preservation of the Wild Flora and Fauna) entered into an agreement that marked the compromise of AMISRAEL’S Agents of Peace campaign to work in favor of the environment.

The AMISRAEL-APREFLOFAS cooperation agreement was executed by Mr. Kenneth Rodriguez Sanchez, AMISRAEL’S delegate to Costa Rica and Ms. Angerline Marin Alfaro, representative of APREFLOFAS.

Ms. Angerline Marin Alfaro referred to said agreement as a work alliance for the benefit of the conservation: "AMISRAEL as a world peace promoter and APREFLOFAS as promoters of conservation of natural resources are the ones we need to live on this planet earth,” she stated.

APREFLOFAS is making use of a new popular initiative which is beneficial to Costa Rica at a Central American level designed to legislate natural resources.  This will be the first project of this type presented before the Legislative Assembly, and even though 135,000 citizen signatures are needed to meet the goal, Costa Ricans will be voting for a Wildlife Law to eradicate the slaughter of animals for entertainment.

Once the bill goes before the Legislative Assembly it will be necessary to continue fighting so that a single article of such law is not amended.
