XVII Central American and Caribbean Forum of Political Parties in Panama

The XVII Central American and Caribbean Forum of Political Parties was held in the city of Panama on August 27th and 28th. The topic addressed was “Political parties facing reforms to its founding treaty.” AMISRAEL – The Messenger of Peace participated as an observer at the invitation of Carlos Duque, Head of the Political Commission and Legal Affairs of the Central American Parliament.

The first day of the event was embraced by a series of conferences including the key conference: “Policy solutions for the Region’s poverty,” attended by Panama’s President Martin Torrijos:

AMISRAEL’S Delegate delivered to President Torrijos a report of the progress made by the Agents of Peace campaign and a brief description of Panama’s participation in the Conference: “Reprogramming the Future,” which was organized by AMISRAEL in Jerusalem, Israel, during the month of June, and in which Panama was well represented by Deputy Alvaro Menendez Franco.

AMISRAEL was able to provide informative videos and written materials of the work undertaken by the Agents of Peace; the president of the Latin American Parliament was also given this information.

Among those attending the Central American and Caribbean Forum of Political Parties were the former state presidents Vinicio Cerezo of Guatemala, and Armando Calderon Sol of El Salvador, and Dr. Nicolas Ardito Barletta of Panama.


Table of Honor

Countries such as Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Taiwan, Colombia, Spain and Argentina were gathered for the political encounter.

The event reached its climax by the signing of the agreement between the Central American and Latin American Parliaments, unifying these two powerful entities that seek a complete unity of Latin America as a whole, which shall seek concrete solutions to poverty, migration, education, health, etc.
