Children march for Peace in Belém do Pará, BRAZIL
“O Aprendiz” Educational Center, a primary education school, is also an AGENT OF PEACE.
The principal of the school, Mrs. Rossana, along with her teaching and technical staff, fell in love with the AGENTS OF PEACE Campaign and joined this beautiful project from AMISRAEL, which aims to spread a culture of peace to society, families and individuals.
AMISRAEL was present on September 4th when they held na event “O Aprendiz Marcha pela Paz” (“O Aprendiz Marches for Peace”), in which more than 100 children, dressed as AGENTS OF PEACE, along with their parents, marched for peace in their neighborhood, Sacramento, one of the most populated neighborhood of Belém, in the state of Pará. The march took one and a half kilometers and it was followed by bystanders who couldn’t help but join the children, their parents and the teachers.
The young AGENTS OF PEACE from the school “O Aprendiz” spent one week making small flags with drawing about peace and motivational words which emphasized justice and peace in society.
The parade had the contribution of the Marching Band from the local fire brigade and the Military Police, which escorted them all the way. The joy of the children was so contaminating that a great number of people joined in their march, which ended in front of the school “O Aprendiz” where the band played the National Anthem.
“From now on, we will be working with the culture of peace in the school and we count on the support of the staff and the parents who will also be AGENTS OF PEACE.”, emphasized the representative of AMISRAEL in Pará. The principal said the greatest challenge of the school is to spread the culture of peace onto the parents. However, with the help of AMISRAEL this task shall be much easier.
After the march, the parents showed a lot more interest on the AGENTS OF PEACE Campaign. “It’s a new start for our school”, highlighted the Principal Rossana.
