Say YES to respect, say YES to love and to tolerance in the International Peace Day
The city of Arequipa, in Peru, shouted: Say YES to respect, say YES to love and to tolerance in the International peace day, last 21st of September.
Aiming to continue spreading the culture of peace, the local Agents of Peace joined forces with the Peruvian Army in their activities at Plaza de Armas, carrying flags and signs with messages of peace. Several presentations, including acrobatic demonstrations were part of the event, in this internationally celebrated day.

Aiming to continue spreading the culture of peace, the local Agents of Peace joined forces with the Peruvian Army in their activities at Plaza de Armas, carrying flags and signs with messages of peace. Several presentations, including acrobatic demonstrations were part of the event, in this internationally celebrated day.
The Agents of Peace laid the objectives of their campaign and invited local authorities and institutions from several different sector of society to work together in order to establish the culture of peace within Peruvian society.
Informative pamphlets about the culture of peace were handed out to the audience, in different places of the city. A nonviolence appeal was made upon the children, young people and adults from the city.
Alter the celebration the local media interviewed the coordinator of AMISRAEL en Arequipa, Mr. . Néstor Fuentes Zeballos, who expressed in greater details the meaning of the International Peace Day, based on information from the UN:.

“Every year, people around the World honor peace in this day, in many ways. The UN itself invited all its member Nations, the associated organizations, at international and local levels, and NGOs to celebrate appropriately the International Peace Day carrying out educational activities and actions to sensibly the population, also contributing with the UN in a effort to cease fire around the world.
This year, when we celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of the International Declaration of Human Rights and the operations to maintain peace, the International Peace Day is the the opportunity to highlight the crucial relation between peace and human rights, which are each day more inseparable”.
The activities to spread the Culture of Peace finished in an important Arriquepa Square, where an presentation displayed signs about Human Rights and the values that society must cultivate.
