PANAMA: Great Cultural Journey for the International Peace Day
AMISRAEL in association with the Universidad de Panamá and the special participation of the Centro de Información de las Naciones Unidas, celebrated the International Peace Day. The conference hall José Dolores Moscote , from the university was scenario of the cultural activities held in order to follow the UNs request to honor this day raising our voices in favor of world peace and claiming for a cease fire, all around the Globe.
Several Authorities were present, among which Dr. Álvaro Menéndez Franco, Congressman from PARCELAN, Mrs. Jisselinde González, officer in charge of the Centro de Información de las Naciones Unidas and representatives from the Colombian Embassy in Panamá.
The “Orquesta de Cámara de la Universidad de Panamá” (University of Panamá’s Orchestra), conducted by Efraín Castro, opened the ceremony with a classical music piece.
Dr. Álvaro Menéndez Franco was the master lecturer of this journey for peace, with his dissertation: “Peace as a fundamental value in our society”. The lecture made a retrospective of the country’s history during the 19th and 20th centuries, highlighting the actions the civilians took in order to seek Peace.

The delegate from AMISRAEL in Panamá, Ariel Cerrad, presented to the audience the fundaments and aims of the Agents of Peace campaign. The great journey was closed with a group dynamic “The Wall of Peace, in which the audience had the chance to express their messages of peace and hope.
