Venezuela: International Forum for Peace and Ecology

Dr. William Soto, at the International Forum for Peace and the Environment in Valencia, thus spoke:
“HANDS ON FOR PEACE”

With these words, Dr. William Soto closed his masterful conference at the International Forum for Peace and the Environment, which took place at the conference room of the University José Antônio Páez, in the city of Valencia, Venezuela, on 29th and 30th of September, 2008.

This forum, organized by the Venezuelan Environmental Movement, the Community Foundation Nuevo Amanecer (New Dawn) and by the University José Antônio Páez, had the special participation of the international organization “AMISRAEL, the Messenger of Peace”, of the Latin American Association for Radiophone Education ALER and of the National Congress of Venezuela, amongst other foundations and associations which work for peace and for the environment in Venezuela.

The main themes were discussed with the contribution of experts, who offered their knowledge in order to establish the foundations of an international network of people working for raising the awareness regarding peace and environment in our planet.

Dr. Salomão Cunha, Executive Director of AMISRAEL, Congressman Pedro Bastidas from the environment committee of the National Congress House of Venezuela and Dr. Manuél Díaz, the president of the Venezuelan Environmental Movement took part in the discussion panel “Global Challenge for Peace and Environment”.

“Education and communication for peace and the environment” was the theme discussed in the second panel, by Dr. Kelita Machado, Administrative Director of AMISRAEL and Mr. Gerardo Lombardi, the president of the Latin American Association for Radiophone Education ALER.

The masterful conference of the International Forum for Peace and the Environment was conducted by Dr. William Soto, International Director of AMISRAEL, who in turn was assigned by the organizational committee as the Honorary President of the event. After this important participation, the University José Antonio Páez awarded Dr. William Soto as “Distinguished Visitor” of that educational institution.

Later, Dr. William Soto was granted the title of “The Green Man of the Americas” by the Venezuelan Environmental Movement for his international work through AMISRAEL and for carrying out concrete actions which spread a message of tolerance and fraternity among the people, making them follow a road of peace and environmental preservation.

Dr. Manuel Díaz, the president of the organizational committee of the International Forum for Peace and the Environment highlighted the importance of the title of “The Green Man of the Americas” granted to Dr. William Soto, praising him for dedicating his life to the generation of opportunities for diverse exchange between different peoples, thus assuring the preservation of the human race and the planet itself.

For these reasons, Dr. William Soto’s sentence “HANDS ON FOR PEACE” became the motto of his masterful conference and the final slogan of the International Forum for Peace and the Environment, which is bound to be repeated in other Universities in Venezuela and around the world.
