Madrid comes forth for peace in the Middle East
Around 2,000 people attended a demonstration on Sunday, January 18, in front of the Embassy of Israel in Madrid, Spain, in order to ask for peace for Israel and support its right to defend itself.
Cultural associations, Jewish, Catholic, Evangelical and Protestant communities, politicians and citizens of several places in Spain and Europe have shown their support for Israel.

AMISRAEL was present with a manifesto on the conflict in the Gaza Strip, which is about the right of Israel to defend itself and also in solidarity with the suffering of the Palestinian people.
With banners and signs about the peace in Israel and the Middle East, the demonstration was organized by the Community of Madrid, with the participation of Spain-Israel Solidarity Association and other organizations, such as AMISRAEL.
The Ambassador of Israel in Spain, Rafael Schulz, showed that the objective of military intervention in his country is to protect its citizens, just as a father or a mother does to protect their children. He also expressed his simpathy for war victims, Palestinians and Israelis.
In the event, it was also shown the terror that Israel lives under, with the constant sound of alarms that warn the population to the danger of imminent attacks and persecution from the terrorist group Hamas as it launches its bombs.

People from the political world also showed their solidarity and support to the State of Israel, as Congressman Mr. Juan Antonio Ruiz Castillo, socialist member of the Assembly.
The young Israeli David read the Manifesto of AMISRAEL and added that he has family in Ashkelon, Haifa and Jerusalem and hopes that they can live in peace and tranquility in the land of Israel.
The demonstration was preceded by songs devoted to Jewish, such as Jerusalem of Gold, Shalom Jerusalem and others, which touched that the demonstrators. AMISRAEL delivered its manifesto for peace to the Embassy of Israel in the person of spokesman for the ambassador, Edwin Yabo, who thanked all the NGOs for its support to the people of Israel worldwide.
