This year’s opening of WSF was a march

This year, the WSF was based in the Amazon region, in the city of Belem. Although it has always been an international event, this edition had the participation of more than 20 thousand people, from 150 different countries. The main focus was the world economical crisis and environmental destruction.

AMISRAEL, whose philosophy is to support any initiative which seeks the convergence, both of ideas and actions, was present at the WSF presenting the Agents of Peace campaign and the Contest about Tolerance. The intention was to show the importance of a culture of peace for the maintenance of society, especially through the contest, for, when one tells a story about tolerance, people reflect about its real meaning.

Important analysis about solutions and preventive action against prejudice and discrimination were the main focus within the plurality of the WSF.
