Abril 14, 2008 April 14, 2008

On March 27, 2008, the offices of AMISRAEL was visited by important and beloved personalities of the Chilean society, Rev. Renato Poblete Barth, SJ, Executive Secretary of the Foundation Padre Hurtado and direct disciple of San Alberto Hurtado, and Priest Jaime Valencia, a Theologian and pioneer of the canonization of St. Alberto Hurtado in Rome.

The objective of the FoundationLa fundación Alberto Hurtado is to promulgate the legacy of the Blessed Chilean Jesuit who performed countless works of solidarity in favor of the poor and needy of Chile.

During this encounter both priests joined the Agents of Peace campaign of AMISRAEL and delivered important encouraging words inviting the youth and general population to join the work undertaken by AMISRAEL worldwide.

"It is an open invitation to all those who really want to sow love, peace, and solidarity among all the people of this country, hopefully you will accept it and not hide, but come out.  We are all needed for peace,” expressed Father Renato Poblete.

On the other hand, Father Jaime Castellon said: “I find it very positive and praiseworthy to promote peace.  Peace is something good for mankind.  It is something that everyone, not regarding their ideology, political inclination or religion, is something we all have to commit to in order to contribute toward a new world.  Everyone, including the youth should engage in the struggle for peace.”
